SIL (Supported Independent Living) is NDIS funding that helps participants with daily personal activities in shared or individual living arrangements. SIL provides assistance with tasks such as:
- Personal care (showering, dressing, grooming)
- Meal preparation and household tasks
- Developing living skills and independence
- Overnight support when required
- Community participation and social activities
SIL is different from SDA (Specialist Disability Accommodation). While SDA covers the building/housing, SIL covers the support workers who assist with daily living. Participants can receive SIL in their own home, family home, or shared accommodation with other NDIS participants.
